HEATING THINGS UP
MESSAGE: “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.” (Revelation 3:15-16)
MEANING: The deeds of the Laodicean church told the whole story. There was no zeal, no passion to serve God. The Lord had richly blessed these Christians, but rather than use their wealth to help others they became conceited. What story do our deeds tell about us as a congregation? Are we coasting along comfortably with our richly blessed lifestyles or are we on fire for the Lord? Don’t let “stuff” chill your passion for God. Use your blessings, possessions, time and energy to maximize the impact your good deeds have.
MOVEMENT: Is there a good work you’ve been meaning to do, but you just haven’t found the time, energy, or nerve to do? Today, be on fire and just do it! Bring glory to His name.
