With the help of God and guided by His word, the Trilacoochee church of Christ appointed elders and deacons to serve the Lord and His disciples in this assembly. On Sunday morning, March 8, 2020, Scott Black, Steve Melton, Larry Winn, and Paul Blake were appointed to serve as the shepherds of God’s children who meet in Trilacoochee, Florida. At the same time, Sam Cooper and Jay Wininger were appointed to serve the Lord and His disciples as deacons. This effort was begun late last summer of 2019 when we studied New Testament doctrine on the organization and leadership of local churches. In January of 2020, we carefully looked among us for men willing and qualified to accept the mantle of servants of the Savior. We thank the Lord with all of our hearts for blessing us so abundantly in this, and we earnestly thank the members of this congregation for the spirit of sincere love and cooperation that made this a peaceful, encouraging experience. We solicit your prayers as we work to glorify the Lord in this community, and as we write yet another chapter in the book of the church at Trilacoochee that was begun 73 years ago in a barn in Clay Sink, Florida. May there be many more chapters to come.
