THE SPIRIT’S HELP
MESSAGE: “for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.” (Romans 8:13)
MEANING: The Holy Spirit helps Christians overcome our old habits. In fact, Jesus actually calls the Holy Spirit “the Helper.” In the Spirit, we can put our wicked deeds to death, and joyfully live a new life as redeemed children of God. The Holy Spirit testifies of the new relationship with God, and even helps us as we pray. The Holy Spirit may be challenging to understand, but His help is certainly real.
MOVEMENT: Examine your life. Are there deeds of the flesh that are hindering your spiritual growth? Don’t fight battles alone. Seek help from a trusted Christian who is walking in the Spirit.
