A PEOPLE ZEALOUS FOR GOOD DEEDS
MESSAGE: “who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.” (Titus 2:14)
MEANING: The zeal of the Bible is not a temporary emotional high found in the ignorance of youth. It is a living and active conviction of God’s love for us grounded in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. We only become “zealous for good deeds” when we comprehend that the driving force behind our Savior’s gut-wrenching death was His love. Love inspired Him to endure our punishment, pay for our purity, and redeem us as His people. When we fully embrace His love we are inspired to honor Him by zealously engaging in good deeds.
